Pause, resume, and stop¶
RASAero automation uses the mouse and keyboard. The progress dialog has Pause and Stop buttons. During active automation the application also registers Ctrl+Shift+F12 as a global pause/resume shortcut, where supported.
Intended behavior¶
- Pause: stop interference with the desktop and invalidate the unfinished active candidate.
- Resume: reevaluate that incomplete candidate from the beginning rather than trusting a partial export.
- Stop: preserve finished evaluations and make their results available while discarding incomplete work.
This behavior was tested in earlier development versions, but active pause/resume/stop was not verified against Assignment 14's exact Windows release. Before relying on it during an expensive study, run a short test with at least one completed candidate.
Practical caution¶
Avoid manually interacting with RASAero while the optimizer is active; the automation depends on window focus and desktop controls. If a run is interrupted or freezes, inspect candidate completion records rather than assuming the active attempt is valid.
